All I am drinking is crystal ligh****er, and decaf tea.  I can't stomach the ISOPURE drink.  Is it ok to do without protien until the full liquid diet starts?

No, you need calories and protein to sustain your basic body functions. If you don't take in protein, you will continue to feel like crap and your body will basically start cannibalizing it's muscles (all of them, legs, arms, heart, etc.) for protein. Get your protein in or work darn hard at it. Find a source of protein you can tolerate, even if it's just plain old skim milk. Call your surgeon/NUT if you can't find something you can handle because protein is very, very important for healing.

Girl, your body NEEDS some protein.  Can you drink milk and add non-fat powdered milk to it to bump up the protein?  I couldn't stand most of the protein drinks, so used the No-Sugar Added Carnation Instant Breakfast mixed w/ skim milk and 1/4 c. non-fat powdered milk.  Definitely not the greatest liquid protein, but it got me through.   I understand you can't stand the Isopure, but you MUST find something you can tolerate; your body NEEDS protein.   Hope you are feeling stronger soon -  Kellie

Thank you all!  I see my Doctor today.  Hopefully he increases me to full liquids so I can try the carnation, protien shakes, or slimfast.
