I need help!
I am free as of today to eat a regular diet! Yeah!! But now what do I do? My insurance does not cover a nut so I need some guidence! How much should I be eating? Is there a specific calorie count I need to be getting? I just want to stay on the path I am on and not screw anything up! Thanks in advance!
Meg
Did your surgeon not give you a plan to follow after today?
My "regular diet" plan that I'm supposed to follow until I'm done losing looks like this.
750 calories per day ****il 6 months out) 1000 calories per day (after 6 months out)
20 - 30 % of the calories should be from fat
no carb restrictions/recommendations
60 grams of protein per day minimum
3 meals per day only
1 snack per day only (in addition to the 3 meals for a total of eating 4 times per day)
each meal or snack is 1/2 cup or less (If I don't feel satisfied with 1/2 cup, I quit eating anyway because I know 1/2 cup is enough for me and I'm probably just "wanting" more - not "needing" more. If I feel satisfied at only 1/4 cup, I quit eating at only 1/4 cup.)
no sugar
no fruit juices and/or calorice beverages (other than milk and/or protein drinks)
no carbonated and/or caffeinated beverages (ever again)
protein first - always
I followed these rules and I am currently below goal at < 1 year out.
Good luck!
