Late Dumping possibly?
Hey Everyone! I started my soft food stage and have been very sick. Can late dumping occur 12 hours later after eating?? I have tried cream of wheat.. that was ok. Soft boiled egg... NO! Cottage cheese... NO! I made chicken noodle soup so I could control fat, etc.... and NO! I ate the soup yesterday at 2pm and again at 6pm. I had to leave work today because I felt nausea, weakness, tired, explosive diarreah. Any suggestions on the next food attempt? Thanks! Deb
In my experience, dumping occurs pretty soon after you eat (within 10-30 minutes). Your body just may be having some problems transitioning from liquids to soft foods. Remember that your entire gastrointestinal system has just had a major overhaul, so it may be a bit confused about how to get back to producing normal stools. If you continue to have diarrhea any time you try soft foods, I'd suggest talking to someone at your's surgeon's office to see what they suggest. Also, make sure you are continuing to drink as much as possible, as diarrhea can quickly cause you to become dehyrated, and that's a road you don't want to go down - trust me...
Good luck on your continuing journey -
