Putting the brakes on ... xpost

Hi All,

I'm not exactly sure where to go to get some help here.

I am just over 10 months out and I've just about reached goal, but I'm still losing even though I'm trying not to. I've upped my total calories to about 1500/day and my breakdown is about 30protien/30fat/40carb.

Any suggestions?

I'm not an RD, but most docs seem to agree that you will bottom out BELOW your goal then rebound to your body's "happy weight". Meaning if your goal is 135 you might go as low as 115-120 before "filling back out" to 135. Another thought some docs have is that if you "stop" the loss at 135 and don't bottom out, then your "rebound" weight will be ON TOP of 135 (meaning you'll rebound higher than your goal - like 150 or so). Make any sense?  (These numbers are just examples to try to show what I'm saying.) I was told that my body would auto-level and to try not to "stop" the weight loss that my body would do that for me. So far it has been working. Hope this helps. Cass

Hi Cass,

Thanks for the perspective and input. I'm going to be calling my RD again next week and will ask again about the best way to handle it.

Again, thanks for taking the time to respond.
