Who do I believe about my vitamins?

I had RNY on April 4, 2007 and PS on March 19, 2008.  On both surgeries my liver enzymes went up to 750-850.  I just went to a liver specialist and am waiting for my new labs to come back.  My WLS doctor told me to stop taking all of the vitamins and supplements that I started taking through out the last year and only take 2 Flintstone complete and some calcium.  I am not comfortable with this advice.  For one thing, I am only taking 800 calcium a day and read today that I should be taking 2000.  Who the heck do I believe?

Stopping your vitamins for a short time (3 months or so) won't hurt you. This may help your doctors determine what's going on with your liver - although, I am doubtful it has anything to do with your vitamins. Follow your doctor's advice, but after 3 months of the flinestones + calcium, make sure you ask him/her if you can go back to your usual vitamins. Were you taking large amounts of vitamins?
