Need Chewable Vitamin Suggestions
Hi!
I am looking for good tasting, chewable vitamins. I don't seem to be able to tolerate pill form at all...
I currently take Flinstones Complete w/ Iron (2/day) and Citrical creamy bites (3/day) but the citrical creamy bites are discontinued and I need a better MVI or a chewable iron. I am developing iron deficiency (low ferritin), dropping Vit D (although not deficient yet). I get horrible pain and nausea/vomiting when I try to take the pill form of anything...it just sets in my pouch for hours. (I am almost 1 yr out and likely had a stricture that has opened up enough for foods well chewed.)
I used an adult multi-vitamin rather than something designed for a child. Chewable Adult Centrum. I buy mine at Wal-Mart and they are about $10/100ct. I've heard CVS has them on sale often too.
For Calcium I use the Creamy Bites -- while my supply lasts anyway. But also the UpCalD. It's a powdered calcium citrate plus Vit D and its so easy to take. I buy it on Amazon.com for $10.95 for a 16oz can which is 227 servings. I have links posted on my profile if you're interested.
I don't take Iron, so don't have a suggestion on a chewable. But I seem to remember people saying they get chewables at GNC.
Good luck,
Pam

I use a liquid vitamin because I hate swallowing so many pills. It's noted on my profile page. Tastes good too, like an orange punch. Minimal iron it it though, but lots of B vitamins. Be sure to take your iron and calcium citrate at least an hour apart. If taken together the iron bonds to the calcium citrate, negating how effective it can be.
