Clear liquid diet question...wine??

I started my clear liquid diet, before I was told to..just a few days.  My question is...is it ok to have a glass of white wine?  Expecially if it is within my caloric limit?  I wont do it the couple days before surgery...but I enjoy a glass once in awhile.  Any thoughts?

Hi lilcrazyrm, I definitely would not do any alcohol before your surgery.  Most surgeons need their patient's livers to shrink before WLS surgery.  This is very important.  Because alcohol does directly affect the liver, I would say this is a no-no.   My surgeon did not allow alcohol for one year post-surgery.   Good luck!! ~Shannon
