Proper and safe way to regain some excess weight loss???
Hi there,
I sure hope one of you can help me with a problem I never in my life thought I'd have. I have been sick this last month with abdominal pain that the doctors are trying to figure out, and in the mean time I've lost 12 lbs. I was already at 128, where I was happy and doing fairly well maintaining, but I MUST get some of this back on. I'll be 53 the end of the month, and while 116 at 5'3" isn't bad for someone in their 20's, I look like a skeleton. People are making awful comments about my appearance and honestly, my own body image is as bad now as it was when I weighed 235.
Just to maintain that 128 I was drinking whole milk, eating almonds as snacks, etc, but I need some good suggestions on how to get in more calories without heading back to the nasty things that got me to need WLS in the first place.
I was scheduled for plastics on 3/12 and have canceled it because I don't feel I'm healthy enough to go through with it.
Please help me
Susan
Hi Susan, my heart goes out to you. I wanted to send many hugs your way in this time. I wish I could help you, but I think a professional is definitely needed here to guide your way.
I hope you heal very soon from your abdominal troubles and they find an answer very soon for you.
You will be in my thoughts.

Susan,
I would hang in there (if you can) to see what might actually be going on to cause this abdominal pain because certain GI diagnoses call for different diet approaches.
It might also be a good idea to visit your RD for a personalized approach to your new dilemma of regaining some weight healthfully. If you don't have an RD, you might try to locate one at http://www.eatright.org or consider using our online service http://www.enutritioncare.com where you can choose your RD who will help you through this.
I wish you the best of luck.; PM me if you have other questions.
