I haven't had mt surgery yet, but I was hoping someone could tell me how many grams of protein do you need to consume after having surgery?

Different surgeons have different guidelines, but for most folks at least 60 grams is the mininum.  It's almost impossible to hit that number immediately after surgery, but you work up to it over the course of a few weeks and then maintain at at least that level.  Me, I'm 27+ months post op and get about 150 grams of protein per day, all from food sources.  But I'm probably eating more protein and calories than a lot of folks b/c of a heavy exercise schedule.   Regarding your protein requirements, be sure to check with you surgeon and nutritionist, then follow their recommendations!  Same thing for vitamins, supplements, fluids, etc. Good luck on your continuing journey -  Kellie
