I have had a problem with borderline zinc deficiency ever since my rny 5 yrs ago. I currently get iron iv's every several months. The zinc gluonate is not working for me-what chemical forms of zinc are the most easily absorbed?  Thank you-

Do you actually have symptoms of zinc deficiency - or is this related to a blood test? Zinc comes in gluconate, sulfate and chloride forms - all are considered well absorbed.  The problem is that the area where zinc is absorbed was surgically altered - so you will have to increase your intake accordingly (I know you probably already know that). A word on zinc, take your supplement at least 2 hours apart from iron, calcium, copper, milk, and foods high in bran fiber - in order to maximize absorption good luck!
