Hi,  I am waiting for surgery date and I'm getting all my food ready for when I come home. Is applesauce ok to eat for the first two week liquid part?? I have broth, s/f jello,s/f pudding, yogurt, cream of wheat and protein shakes but am wondering what else for varity? Thanks!

I had made a pot of chicken soup before surgery (lapband). I strained it and put some into 4 oz. containers and placed them in the freezer. I then took the veggies, etc. and broth into the food processor and made a "mush". I put that into 4 oz. containers also and placed them into the freezer. The chicken soup helped me through those first weeks....very delicious, if I do say so myself! Also, as time gets on, mash potato with salmon...terrific!

You should always refer to your surgeon's instructions.  Clear liquids are chicken broth, water, sf popsickles, apple juice, tea, jell-o, etc.  Full liquids include clear liquids and add milk, jell-o pudding, protein drinks, pretty much all liquids. Applesauce is considered pureed like mashed potatoes are.

Thanks for the responses. The chicken soup sounds really good. I was thinking the applesauce might be later in a few weeks, but just wanted to check. Thanks!
