I AM 3 WEEKS OUT AND HAVE NOT LOST ANY WEIGHT  THIS LAST WEEK. I AM NOT INPATIENT BUT I THOUGHT THE WEIGHT LOSS WOULD STILL BE CONSISTANT AT THIS POINT. PLEASE TELL ME IF I AM DOING SOMETHING WRONG OR JUST BEING INPATIENT. I DRINK 60-70 OX FLUID A DAY. I EAT 60-70 GRAMS OF PROTEIN A DAY (MOSTLY FROM PROTEIN SHAKES) I AM A VEGETARIAN BUT EAT PROTEIN SUBSTITUTES. THANK YOU!

hey - don't worry - I stopped at three weeks too - I went like two or three weeks and only lost like 2 pounds - then it picked back up in time to drop 10 pounds by the end of month 2 - WOOHOO - and from what I've been reading - 3 weeks is some kind of magic time, especially if you dieted pre-op.  :-) stay strong, it will start back up soon, your body is just adjusting to the new temp before jumping into the next icy pool of weight loss :-)...

Same thing happened to me. I lost 8 pounds the first week and a half, then nothing for awhile, week 4 I lost 2 pounds, and this past week I lost 2 pounds, for a total of 12 pounds in 6 weeks. I was very disappointed, still am to be honest. But what can you do. I follow the rules and can only hope it comes off in time. I keep track of all I eat and I exercise 3-4 times a week on the treadmill. I was walking more often, almost every day, on the treadmill, but lost my motivation after losing so slowly. Just trying to get back to it again. My protein is up to 60 or more every day. My calories hover around 600-800. I wish I could give you some words of wisdom but I have none. I just hope someone else does. Good luck. Hugs, Ellie

Hi I'm still pre-op so I can't speak along those lines, but I do recall a past diet i was doing everything right (eating and exercising just like my doc told me) and didn't loose weight any faster than my friend who didn't exercise.  My doc told me that muscles weigh more than fat and that while I wasn't loosing on the scale, i was burning off fat and building muscle.  I suspect the same thing is happening with ya'll.  Good luck.  You inspire those of us getting ready to have surgery.

Seems like 99% of WLS patients stall at 3 weeks (purely ancedodl, but this exact questions comes up all the time). Totally normal.

I to stalled at week 3.  I was so frustrated and I didn't lose anything for about 3 weeks.  Hang in there!  This is a way to lose weight but it isn't by any means a magic wand.  I still haven't lost as much as i want but I am losing inches.  I suggest measuring yourself and make sure you excercise.  Excercise has helped me not think about the weight loss (or lack there of) and i feel better too.  I hope this helps!!
