I threw some items in a pot to make Taco Soup and now I don't know how to determine nutritional value per serving.  Does anyone know a website to go to to help me with this?

I need the same...I track on fitday and some of their values for homemade foods are way off compared to my own cooking methods!

There are many databases for ingredients and calories - the USDA has a huge database. When calculating home cooked foods, and you know the ingredients including measures, you can calculate by adding the individual items together. Sometimes trying to determine the number of servings can be tricky - thereby making the calories appear very inaccurate. Play with it a little - you may find that you can make guesstimates. The easiest way is to cook with recipes and use their info ;) Good luck!

As an FYI based on Danielle's response, The Betty Crocker Cookbook contains nutritional information for all it's recipes.  I find it super helpful and they have a lot of good recipes.  I'm not sure whether any of the BC healthful cookbooks contain similar information, but I would not be surprised.  Spend a little time perusing the cookbook section at your local bookstore until you find a reference cookbook or two that will work for you! Kellie BTW, I love Taco Soup and haven't made any yet this season; perhaps I'll get the stuff to make it on my way home!

nutriton data is the best!! you have to create a free account, but you put items in your "pantry" to create a nutrition label, adjust the ingredient amounts, put in how many servings the dish is and whaa laaa a label is created for you (per serving or per dish, you get to choose)  :) heres the link http://www.nutritiondata.com/user/login
