I am having surgery on the 21st but the Dr. has not given me my pre-opt instructions yet, what do I do? do I eat only liquids and what? can I eat any solids? and what? For 2 day now I have only eaten soups, shakes, and pudding, getting sick of them real fast. Help!!!!

If your doc wants you on a pre-op diet, they usually order it 3-4 weeks pre-op.  You may have a doctor who doesn't use that method.  Not every doc uses pre-op diets. If you're not sure, you can call the office & ask.

Every doc is different. Mine just said do your "last Supper' a few days before no big heavy meal the night before surgery and then a regular diet up till midnight the night before surgery. I didn't have any other instructions. You could call just to make sure but I'm sure they woudl have said something if they wanted you on a special pre op diet.  Good Luck,  Robin
