Problems eating

I am 3 weeks out and I am having issues eating anything. I can eat no meat what so ever, even if it is pureed. Yogurt is now not staying down. I tried some soup last night and it got stuck. I am throwing up/foamies 2-3 times a day. I am to the point where I don't even want to try to eat. Help!

Eleven days after surgery they put me back in the hospital because nothing would stay down. They did a cat scan, xrays and an upper GI. They found nothing! They think that I might have had a small ulcer.

I can keep down liquids but nothing with any substance. I took 4 small bites of yogurt this morning and it would not stay down. Last night soup would not stay down. I do not the doctor to think that I am a whiner...LOL

Cherish your health. If it is good, preserve it. If it is unstable, improve it. If it is beyond what you can improve, get help.

Call the doctor.  That is why he is paid the big bucks.  This isn't about whether he likes you, it is about your health.  Read your signature line again, and call the doctor.

What you are describing is a situation where you are at risk for dehydration and electrolyte imbalance.  I don't want to scare you - but these conditions are serious and can potentially kill you. It is so much better to err on the side of caution.  Call your doctor and while you are waiting for your appointment (or in the meantime): Keep a record of exactly what you eat, if you keep it down - how long that takes and any other information you can provide (foamies, nausea, types of foods, anything else).  When you get in the office or on the phone with the doctor it is easy to forget information that can be important.  Remember, the doc only knows what you tell them and what the tests show.  Do what you can to paint the most complete and detailed picture possible. Take charge of it - who cares if they think you're a whiner.  They have a job because of patients like you!
