I am looking for a RD opinion on what the healthiest type of bread is for post-ops.  I am not necessarily looking for the lowest fat or lowest carb or lowest sugar.  I mean the OVERALL healthiest.

The healthiest bread, in my opinion, is one made with whole grains, minimal sugar, salt and fat. I myself prefer Milton's brand and Orowheat. The grainier, nuttier varieties are best for blood sugar control (more fiber slows down digestion) and satiety. A whole grain slice of toast stays w/ me a lot longer then a white variety.
