Help! bored, emotional and struggling
When I had surgery my husband was deployed to Iraq, it was easy to give up that emotional eating because of the restriction. I am at 18 months now, I am 22 lbs from goal. I have lost 119 lbs. I find that when he left for Iraq again I have had to keep busy and just have not wanted to cook. So I have been struggling with eating right. I need to get back on track. I eat alot of the frozen smart ones meals. I have two kids and cook about 3 nights a week. But not all 7 like when Daddy is home.
How bad are the smart ones, or are they okay? I usually have one for lunch and one for dinner. It is just easier doing everything by myself to be able to microwave instead of measure count and cook.
I also need some ready to eat snack ideas. I dont want to cook my snacks and measure them and weigh them to. I love raw veggies and will be stocking up on them today, any other suggestions?
Hi, the Smart Ones are fine and Lean Cuisine is another option for variety. The portions are fantastic and both brands are low in fat. Lean Cuisine has a Spa collection which uses whole grains. Veggies are a great snack idea as well as fruit. How about an apple w/ a small amount of peanut butter? Low fat string cheese is also an easy snack to grab on the go. Jell-O makes a sugar free pudding which can be helpful with satisfying a sweet craving.
Journaling can also help w/ your cravings and can keep you focused on your weight loss goals. Try writing your feelings down when you feel yourself leaning towards an emotiona eat fest.
I hope your husband returns safely. Take Care,
