supplement overdose???
I am 6 months out from RNY and am still very tired. I have started increasing my supplements and I never considered that taking too many might be harmful. I take:
morning: 1 multi vitamin
1 hair, nails & skin vitamin
2 B-12 sublingil
2 calcium (400 ea)
afternoon: 2 B-12
2 calcium
evening: 1 iron (29)
2 vitamin C (500ea)
1 Zinc
1 B-100
In addition to my protein
This is alot but I am definetely feeling better.
I don't see any glaring problems.
You have 1600 mg Calcium
I don't know the dosage on the B12 - but it is poorly absorbed so more is ok
I don't know what's in your Hair & nails - probably biotin and B-vits.
You are taking a big dose of vitamin C all at once. It is better to disperse vit C throughout the day. Even in a normal GI tract, the body can only absorb about 65-100 mg at a time. A smaller amount multiple times a day (100 mg chewable, for instance)
