Three Weeks Out of Surgery, What do you eat?

I am concerned,  I know I am to eat protein first, but I eat so little how do you know you are getting enough. what does everyone else during the day.  do any of you have sample meal plans of what is good to eat. thanks Kim

In the beginning it is usually a challenge to get enough of anything - that's why everyone spends so much time trying to reinforce the "protein first" and "get your fluids" concepts.  It becomes almost a mantra. On the left hand column of this webpage are RNY guidelines - take a look at those.  Also, look back at some of the RD posts on this board, we have covered diet progression many times. Now I'll step back and let other members answer the "what do you eat" question.  I know some people have found very effective methods, and maybe a few creative alternatives to get in the amount of protein you need.
