Couple questions about the pouch
I have a couple questions about the pouch after RNY surgery.
How long after you eat does it take for your pouch to empty?
If I forget and drink after I eat, will that stretch my pouch?
Why do some doctors say only 3 meals a day, while others say 3 meals, 3 snacks? What is the difference and does it affect weight loss?
Thanks for your time.

Hi Patti,
Your pouch should empty in about 30 minutes. If you eat something really high in fat, it will probably take a bit longer, and if you are drinking liquids, it will empty much quicker.
You won't stretch your pouch by drinking after you eat on occasion. If you are constantly overfilling your pouch, yes, it will stretch. Just be careful. Try to drink your fluid 30-45 minutes after you eat.
Every doctor has a different nutrition plan. And yes, each plan can affect weight loss differently. Your doctor knows the surgery he or she performed better than me and you. My advise, follow your doctor's recommendations.
