Just want to let you know I had my surgery

Hey everyone!

I just want to let you know that I had my duodenal switch surgery done 3 weeks ago in Montreal by Dr. Gagner. I'm doing great other than feeling quite weak. I was not willing to go on a waiting list for years for surgery (and the DS isn't done in NS anyway), so I self-payed $20 000 plus $1000 for lapband removal and had my surgery done by one of the best DS surgeons in the world. Money very well spent in my mind. My health and happiness is worth it. I'm curious to know if I'm the first person in NS to have the DS? I haven't seen anyone on here who has had it.

If anyone is interested in getting the duodenal switch please send me a private msg and I'd be happy to answer any questions.

Glad to hear you had your surgery and are doing well.
No idea if you are the only one in NS to have the DS surgery.

Hi Angie,

I'm doing great, thanks =) No food intolerances. The weight loss is slower than I'd like, so I'll just have to be more patient I guess.

Congrats on all your success so far with your surgery!

Just as long as the weight is coming off - that's the important part - though when you're stalled, it's hard to keep that in mind!!  lol   What part of NS are you from?

Nice to meet you last night.

I will have to go through my friends list and see if anyones pic triggers my memory for a NS Ds'er .

I do know there is a lady on the NB board who has had the DS quite a few years ago and if you post over there she might see your post- she had it done overseas and for some reason I think she lives away and visits NB now - again my memory sucks but I remember when she would post more frequently which would be in the beginning when I was on OH back in 2007.

Hope to see you again at the next meeting.
