Newbie

I just went to my Doctor on Wednesday and brought up the subject of weight loss surgery...I told her that I have been thinking about it for years and I have finallt made up my mind that it is something that I want to do.  She didn't really have alot to say but filled out the consult form I found on the Capital Health page and faxed it off for me.  Should I call the office in Halifax to make sure they got the information they needed?  Thanks

I'd wait until your doctor hears back from who she sent it to. so make an appointment to go back to see her in 3-4 weeks. They will let her know if they need anything else. It may take a bit for her to hear back.

I agree with Jest, remember there is a long wait list, they are reacting much quicker this year.  I was referred in Sept, had the sleeve in Feb.  So they used to wait 6 years for a response, now there is one specialist and 5 new interns learning to do the surgery, I have the feeling they will be soon doing 2 a day, a large diff to 2 a year.  Good luck.
