Hi there, I just want to clarify something. Will MSI NOT cover the lapband out of province at a private clinic (anywhere other than Moncton) at all? What is known about this new WLS clinic in Halifax? What do they do, is it private? \ Thanks!

(I'm reading old posts, and I know this has been asked a million times, but I want to clarify and get up to date info.) What does someone do if they're new here, so have no family dr.? It's hard enough finding a Dr., nevermind one that will recommend you for WLS. I was banded 2+ years ago, and after trying and trying on his own to lose weight, now my fiance is considering it (the band). There's no way we could afford the complete self pay route that I took again, so we're hoping for some kind of coverage.

Hi there, The clinic is up and running again, it's covered by MSI and they are preforming Vertical Gastric Sleeves. I am going in for May 28th after a 7 year wait. You usually have to be referred by your family doctor to the specialist.
