an actual outside, with a number on my chest, no...I haven't run an official 5k. However, a 5k is 3.16ish miles and since I run 4.5-5 miles a day...you get it . On my "light days" I set the treadmill to 5k and jog along.

I will hit the treadmill after work...then some freeze dance with the kids and kettlebell before bed!

Have you done a 5K?? You will have to give me some pointers! My shoulder hurt so bad last night and still hurts this morning, not sure what I did to it! I plan on a walk after I drop my kids off at school this morn, not sure if I will do anything else, other than stretching that is! I will report back later!

your welcome , i know this way work nice i did it my husband did it and we both lost weight. We were never hungry , and it is coming a life style at one point , and when your done losing just had 25 g of carbs a day until you stop losing , ex 125 for a week , when you weigh yourself you still lose , well try to 150 . Me at 150 i was maintaining myself , the other way is to reduce the training as well but being active is a part of being healthy and 80 carbs , i was burning this within 30 minutes of eleptique ... level 7 or 8 which is i guess more than easy to continue. Now following a pregnancy i will start back this system again as I gained a lot of weight ... i gaining average 100 pounds per pregnancy ... i have 3  kids so I start to get use to losing weight ! Don't get upset if you gain weight  at first as you will built muscles ... then you will shred down ! on a regular pace , you will be very proud and keep your motivation will be easy with these result. Do not look the calories , low calories diets are known to fail , cut the carbs , your body will then turn the fat you eat first in energy source then will get the reserve out !

I am game!! I played racquet ball for the first time today! It was a blast!!! I also did a Jillian mixhaels kettlebell workout.

I think a 5k is great!! There is that couch to 5k program. It is fun.

Hello everyone! I recently found this site so I thought I would give it a try.

Early last year I was having blood sugar issues, achy joints and I was pretty much miserable so in February I started doing some light strength training and changing my diet. I started walking outside in April and by June the aches and pains faded and I had a more energized feeling. I stopped drinking coffee, soft drinks, and anything with caffeine and I gave up the junk like chips and pretzels and switched to bananas. I'm not exactly sure what my starting weight was but I know it was well over 400 and now I would guess I'm around 300.

Hello everyone!

How is everyone doing?

Wanted to see how everyone is doing in the exercise department and ask if anyone was interested in checking in here daily to report how we are doing and encourage one another to stay the course?

This morning I did a 40 min walk/jog and I would love to build myself up to jogging it more than I walk it! My husband and I have talked about entering a 5K race later this year and I know if that is going to be a reality I need to develop this discipline in myself more!

I also have a bike that I have not used in some time, would love to get that out and get riding again!

 

How about you all??

thanks for your input...I do truly appreciate it! I guess it will be the same for me. I don't necessarily buy what my doctor says either.. But I think I will listen to your advice. wink

I had asked the same question to my doctor who explained me , that the severe side effects were just not worth it , that it was better for me to concentrate my efforts and energy to  live healthy ... i have a slow metabolisms and a am not losing weight with a 1200 calories a day diet with less that 100 carbs .... when the Canadian guide recommend to a normal weight person to eat 300 ... any way ... to lose weight i have to burn by exercising 80 of the 100 i eat everyday ... then the rest if my nutrition goes for my basal needs .... when i should need 2900 calories a day according to my weight for my basal and eat a way under .... i felt misunderstood a long time , but resign myself to fight the battle an no one else will do it for me if i want to be in peace with myself !
