i will be joing ww next wednesday, there's one leader that i really like and she's on wednesday, but i have to wait until next week because i had already paid the hospital, which maxed out my cc, so now i have to wait until they get the money back to me, or payday, whichever comes first!!
portion control has always been my problem, and because i get to eat real food, that's why i like ww so much. have you joined yet? we should post on our weigh in days!!

I am celebrating being back under 210. I hung out around 216 for a month and it was tough to get back into the game. This morning I'm 208.3, and that gives me hope and impetus to continue. I have to figure out some kind of reward for getting back under 200. That's exciting!
I am proud of the fact that I have stuck to an eating plan that is healthy for me and that my body is responding to. I am proud that I am finding alternates to the carbage that I often crave. I am proud that I am trying new recipes and forming new habits.
And I am thankful for this board and the reminder to focus on the positives. :)

I'm proud that I resisted temptation today and stuck to my eating plan. It was a real struggle but I had a mental battle with myself and told myself that I would just have to do without the food that I was craving. I remembered what Yoda said "do or do not, there is no try" so it's either I'm going to do this or I'm not and I have to make the decision. I also took the stairs instead of the elevator today, boy was I out of breath!! Took me a while to recover but I'm still alive.

Hi A!
Welcome!
I can share your journey a little. I had the LapBand installed in 2007, and had it removed November 2009. I lost *no weight* with proper band inflation, and had TONS of regurgitation even when all saline was taken out of my band. I did self-pay to put it in (HUGE waste of $$$), but by the Grace of God, my insurance company paid 100% to have it removed. I am so curious to read what the *actual* success rate/fail rate of the band actually is. But it's water under the bridge for me.
So in December 09 I started a VLCD (Very Low Calorie Diet) and it's been a blessing for me. I'm over half-way to goal, and feel GOOD about myself for the first time in years.
I hope you find your way to inner peace, too, A! I'll be cheering for you!
Best Wishes!

Topic: RE: What are you celebrating and proud of? Monday
Well, returned from two weeks in Hilton Head Sunday night and decided I needed to join WW (once again) first thing Monday morning. Kind of felt like going home...a safe place to be for me where I know the rules and what's expected (and the results if I follow the rules). Also returned to my water aerobics for an hour and did an additional half hour of water walking...felt good! A good start to a good week.
Sounds like everyone had a good positive start to their week!

Lori....so glad to see you here again! I have thought of you so often and wondered how you were doing. You have inspired me to come back to this board also....have only occasionally lurked here over the past year. I need to be accountable and this forum is one way to do that....plus the great support and encouragement that can be part of this group.
Great week for you....congratulations!

I read your post and certainly wish you the best in your journey....surgery and weight loss. PCOS is a difficult diagnosis and Mary is our resident expert on that....see she gave some good advice. I don't think it matters what plan you use in your weight loss journey, as long as it's something that can be an ongoing lifestyle choice for you.
This board is very supportive....very glad to see it active again (went through a period of very little activity). We all need the accountability and encouragement that we can give one another is this journey. Thanks for your support.

I certainly have read your posts and you have been an inspiration. I think it's so neat that your hubby has also adopted this lifestyle change....makes it just so much easier. You must feel like a new woman....I'm very excited for you. I have been trying to incorporate more natural foods and have been staying away from the processed crap. We do go out to eat a lot, which can be challenging....but I feel I can do that on WW also.
Just got back from a two week vacation and couldn't believe how much I was looking forward to going to my water aerobics class yesterday. If I'm being consistent with that, it makes it easier to make the healthy food choices....no sense in doing the exercise and then negating its effect with junk food.
Thanks for the encouragement, Skylar.
