Bloomsday Run - 7 1/2 miles!
Yesterday I participated in my 3rd Bloomsday Run here in Spokane WA. I don't run because years of being fat have done a job on my left knee and having had twins and being 52 causes some bathroom issues when I run. I went with my daughter who has put back on about 50 lbs. She did well, but I stayed with her. Our time was about 2 hours and 17 minutes, which is way slow for me, but I also had to go to the bathroom 2 times throughout the race. The wait in the lines each time was about 10 minutes. We had fun and I am not sore at all today! I went to the gym as normal this morning, did 30 minutes on the bike (sweating!) and 1 hour weights working on my chest and back then 1/2 hour fast walking. Not sore! My pedometer said 16,744 steps yesterday! I think that is okay. Mary
Mary,
That is fantastic!!! I know how proud you must be of your accomplishment. I ran once last week, which is a wonderful thing, and even though my knees are shot as well, I will do it again!!!
I know all about those bathroom issues. I have had so many of them I feel like I'm 95!
Great job, you are surely an inspiration.
Oh, for my exercise post, well, nothing organized but I helped out again at my son's track meet, running back and forth measuring the shot put and discus throws. It's not nearly enough but it's better than nothing. I also got hit in the knee with a discus!!!!! I am so sore and bruised there. Oh well, risk of being a volunteer around 13 year olds throwing hard things around.
