Hi everyone! My name is Kim, and I used to post on here when the board first started. At the time, I wasn't really into losing weight, I was really depressed and didn't care. Well, this past month, I have taken losing weight seriously because my health was declining. It has been 4 weeks today since I first started. I started out at 278 and am now down to 267. I can't believe how much better I feel just losing that. I am having trouble the last few days getting enough water though. So, I am here to make some new friends and for support. Thanks for listening to me ramble. Kim 278/267/150

Congrats - great start! Welcome! I still feel kind of like an outsider...don't know why but I really enjoy interacting with everyone on the site. The outside of me looks like I "don't belong here" but the insides still do. I sure feel better when I get my water in. I drink my water mostly through a big straw. It seems I can get more in. I also almost always have a water bottle or my jug with me. Again, welcome. Mary

Mary, Please don't feel like an outsider!!! You are the end of the journey for a lot of us. You and Phyllis and Lynette reached your goals. Others of us are working hard at ours. Without you guys as an inspiration and figureheads for this board, the old belief that you can't keep your weight off with plain diet and exercise is going to remain a true statement. I know that I would feel comfortable at this weight forever, but I am going to continue to work my plan and keep at it until my body finds the weight IT is comfortable at. I have conquered my food demons and I really live an incredibly healthy life. I want to share that with all of those folks that feel like they are slipping off of that wagon. The memories of many "diets" started and "failed" at are vivid in my mind. Like me, I am sure you have a whole boatload of empathy for those fighting this obesity battle. Donna

Hi Mary, I like to say that loosing the weight is an achievement, but keeping it off is the real measure of success. Lynette

Hi Kim and welcome back, I know how great it feels just losing a few pounds, so keep it up!!!! I didn't want to wait until my health declined so I decided it was more than time. You'll feel even better the more you lose. As far as water goes, I found a fairly easy way to do it. I don't know what you do for work but if it is a desk job then you can do it as well. I buy the Dannon or Poland Spring 25 ounce bottles. I keep them filled all the time with cold water and I add the Just Lemon packets. Sometimes I'll add a packet of splenda, but sometimes plain. Just keep drinking!!! I also look in the grocery stores for flavored sugar free waters. I found a really great one this week at a local grocery store and it was in lemonade and cherry limeade. I really loved the lemonade and the bottle was 33 ounces. Two of those and water is in for the day!!! I usually get in about 125 ounces a day. We offer lots of support here so read some profiles and stay connected. Donna
