Hi all, Just a quick thing I wanted to share. Easter, and all of those other Hallmark holidays, somehow become associated with lots and lots of sweets -- those Cadbury Eggs, Chocolate Bunnies, etc etc. And for some reason, us women LOVE sweets (even though sweets don't love us). Managing our weight and our health becomes even more challenging during these times. Having a successful health plan involves an intricate web of little "mind tricks" to keep ourselves in check. Well, I too used to be a sucker for holiday chocolates. Today, I vowed to myself NOT to break my streak, and avoid the sweets. So what did I do? I treated myself to my OWN version of a sweet. Beleive it or not, a Dunkin Donuts Fat Free Iced Latte gives you the same satisfaction as eating a hunk of chocolate. I don't normally eat ANYTHING sweet, and I drink my coffee black. But today I got myself an Iced Latte... and felt like, "Okay, I can still 'celebrate' with the rest of the world, but in my OWN way. I decided that to treat myself on the holidays, instead of indulging in chocolates or cookies, I will have an Iced Latte Lite. Same satisfaction, clears that craving, and is not bad for you. I love hearing little tricks like these to help us ease the cravings, and keep us on track with our health. We can't handle food like 'normal' people can... so every little bit to ease the process helps. When you don't feel as though you're depriving your body of something, you're more likely to stay the course and see it though. I know its just a little trick, but all the little tricks add up and lead to success. If anyone else has tricks that they use, please I encourage you to share! Have a Happy and Healthy Easter Everyone!!!!!! --CJ 250/167/140
