Update On Me
Hi Everyone,
I'm having to eat a lot more food than before. My diet was very strict, and with this surgery, I'm having to eat more to recover. My blood count is down, so I'm trying to build it back up. I've had a couple of spells when I almost fainted. I'm freaking out a little about eating more. My doctor's nurse called Saturday, and I asked her about it. She said definately I should eat more. She told me that recently they had a patient that stuck to a strict diet and it took her 6 months to get back to her normal routine. Right now my thighs are so swollen. They feel fatter than ever. But that's normal. They will go down. My weight is exactly the same as before surgery. So with what he took off and what he put in, I think the net loss should be about 5 pounds. So with the swelling (that is all over my body), I think my weight is staying fine. I'm not eating a bunch of junk, just more of healthy foods.

Lynette,
I know the fear that you live in, I live in the same place my friend. But you just went through a MAJOR surgery. You have to listen to what the doc says and make yourself better in whatever way you need to. Once you are strong enough you can get back to exercising and eating the way you want to maintain your loss. Right now concentrate on making your body strong again!!!
I know you are Superwoman, but treat yourself good for a little bit!

Lynette, That swelling really is all over your body and your thighs and rear really will go down. It took a lot longer than I wanted it to but it does go away. The lack of exercise was scary too for me. I pushed a bit too hard too early and that slowed my recovery down. I guess because I had been in such great shape (exercise wise) before the surgery I expected myself to heal with warp speed. Didn't happen. Take the time you need and feed yourself accordingly. There will be enough time to get back into shape. That is a hard thing to live through though I know. Hang it there. Mary
