Hello everyone! I just changed this to my homepage.
I just took a major step today...admitting to myself that I am not ready for surgery yet..if ever. I was very intent on having the RNY surgery but the mal-absorbtion for life issue is just something I cannot get past. I am not forever ruling out the lap-band surgery but I think I need to start with some soul searching first. Am I charging into this because I told everyone how much I want to have the surgery? So what...who cares if I have to tell them I changed my mind. I will admit being the topic of conversation..even scorn...when it comes to the WLS may be something that is swaying me also but I honestly believe I have to take the information and research I have done and make the decision for ME!
I signed up for the gym today...I am already down 20lbs as I was doing the necessary diet for surgery (yes I am that close..I could have the surgery in a few weeks if I wanted). I have lost 100lbs before..and Yes..I gained it back..but I was also at another point in my life. I have since had 2 babies...nursed them both for 2 years apeice. I think that I just have not given me and my body a fair shake since I was pregnant or nursing for 5 years. And you know..the weight is supposed to come off when you nurse? Well not for ME! I think the key for me will be to find the right combo of food that kicks my matabolism in the behind..and I have to exercise...just no getting out of that for me. I am not a person that can just diet and lose...for any period of time anyway..I must MOVE to Lose.
OK...HI Everyone!! I am excited to find this board and I am going to go change my profile to non-op ..right now.

Non-op
Wendy,
Welcome to the non-ops board. Everyone has to find their niche in how to get their weight under control. Like you many of us have chosen not to have WLS. You can read some profiles and figure out what we have been up to.
We do an exercise challenge as well as a weekly weigh-in plus a what have you eaten today thread. Please join in and feel at home here.
Donna
Thanks everyone! And I just got a face added to my profile! That is great. (ok..I am a True Pear so it doesn't show in my face..thats why all my pictures are cut off right below the neck! LOL!)
Kasey,
I am heading back to the gym in the morning..I just signed up again. I really like using a gym membership as an incentive (those things are not cheap!) plus the kids are looking forward to playing with the other kids and the summer programs they have!
I will try not to over do it! I always do and end up sore the first day. LOL..but it will put me in a good mood as I head to the inlaws this weekend. Feels good to be taking the right steps.
Does anyone know where I can get one of those weight trackers to put on my profile?
