Today I am doing better with my abstinence (that's what they call sticking to your food plan in OA). I didn't eat any of my client Penny's food, and I haven't deviated since I came home. I feel OK about this, and have no deprivation feelings so far. Even if I get them, I intend to behave my way to losing weight, by taking this one day at a time. Breakfast 1 cup Spoon Size Shredded Wheat 1 cup 1% milk 1 medium banana 1/4 cup cheesy scrambled egg substitute Coffee 2 cups water AM Snack 1 Slimfast Cookie Bar 2 cups water Lunch Frozen meal, including meat, vegetables, starch, and fruit 2 sugar free Jello cups 4 graham crackers 2 cups water Dinner Chicken breast with spaghetti sauce & parmesan cheese 1 cup whole wheat spaghetti with sauce & cheese 1 can vegetable soup 1 can light fruit ****tail (drained) Diet Squirt Denise Phares

I would recommend going to Overeater's Anonymous and keeping an open mind. Or, you could buy Dr. Phil's book on weight loss and follow his seven keys to overcoming food addiction. Denise Phares

Find some activity that is rewarding for you. We tend to use food as an outlet for pleasure... we LIKE the way that cheesecake tastes, it makes us feel GOOD. But, in reality, think of how your heart feels once all that crap hits your artery. OUCH! Do something ELSE that makes you feel good, to distract you from resorting to food. I've found excersize to be extremely addicting. It releases so many body chemicals that clear your mind, releave stress, etc etc. When I'm done I feel SO good. When you eat, focus on ONLY eating. Don't eat while watching tv, reading the paper, talking on the phone, etc etc. Becuase then it's just mindless, and you're eating out of boredom. Make ALONE time for you and food. Stay busy! These are all little tricks that help... hope you can find yours! -CJ 250/171/140
