In the last week or so, something wonderful happened. I've been walking and swimming at least 5 days a week for about four months. I've been doing real well, too. But this week, I was able to double my treadmill time and not be constantly out of breath and I've been able to accomplish my 100 swimming laps with fewer stops and in less time. I'm down a total of 47 lbs. I still have a long long long way to go, but the healthy eating and the working out are really starting to make me feel healthier. I was talking to a friend at the gym yesterday and he mentioned that he's less likely to waste even 50 calories now that he's so conscious of what it takes to burn 50 calories. I realized I've been doing that as well. Just one cookie, or an extra stick of gum....I think first and remember that I don't need the calories. I wonder if people who've never had a weight problem have that programed at birth and we, on the other hand, have to somehow learn it after years of torture? I'm off to the gym now....I did 3.25 miles yesterday. Four months ago, I got too tired and out of breath just making my bed. Life is getting sweeter.
