hi all! Here is my problem. I started LA weight loss less than a month ago. And so far I have lost 6 lbs. which is great considering all the emotional things that have been happeing in my life lately. But I have started doing better and have re-committed myself to the process. Now, I have an appt with the oral surgeon tomorrow. He needs to remove and clean out the area where 2 teeth used to be. I also wear partial dentures. That is why I have a problem, everything I can think of to cook today in bulk for the next few days while I am in pain and feeling lousy is very fattening. in the past, I would survive on mash potatoes, or pasta dishes. See my biggest problem is after the surgery, I am sure my gums will be sore and swolen, which mean I can't wear my lower denture, therefore I can't chew anything. So the things I have eaten b4 I could gum to death! I am going to pick up some soups tomorrow b4 I go, but I need more than just that. I have a VERY big appetite. Normally I have been eating lots of fruit and veggies, but I dont think I will be able to chew those. And I probably won't feel much like cooking or shopping either (not that I like shopping now). I also have a sister I care for who is mentally challenged. She is very high functioning, so she will be probably taking care of me more than me her, but I still have to feed her. She has been sticking with me on the diet. So ANY ideas you can come up with to help would be greatly appreciated. I am desperate! And worried, I don't want to gain back that 6lbs I've lost! p.s. I forgot to mention I hate puree foods!

Hi, I do LA Weight Loss too. Have you tried their smoothie mix? I drink it every morning as part of my breakfast. I mix mine with 1 scoop smoothie mix (pina colada), 1/2 can Dite Rite soda (usually tangerine or strawberry kiwi flavored), frozen fruit of your choice- (pineapple, mango, strawberries, or peaches), and 4-5 ice cubes. This comes out very thick like a slushie. Frozen fruit works best and makes it more icy. It counts as 2 fruit servings. The chocolate meal replacement drink is great too. I have that everyday as part of my lunch. It has 20 g. of protein. I find it very filling. LA Weight Loss is great. Your off to a good start. Stick with it. It really works. Lynette

Oh, yeah. Call your LA Weight Loss Center. The counselors there can give you some advice too. They are there to help, and you're paying for it. So take advantage of the knowledge they have to offer you. Lyneete

Hey Lynette, Thanks for the support! I was hoping to get some good meal ideas today to cover a couple of days, so I could take it out of the freezer & cook it. Like I mentioned I have to make sure my sister is fed also. Unfortunately, I didn't, and its getting too late to make anything. But I love your recipe for the smoothie, I will definately try it. My local center is closed today, being that its sunday. That is why I tried the hotline number. I wish they had someone available just for support or ideas. Thanks for inspiring me Maureen
