Weekly Weigh-In

Alrighty folks, I wasn't as good this week as I should be. I've been feeling sick and haven't worked out AT ALL. Also because I've been feeling cruddy, I haven't been eating much -- only about 1-2 meals a day if that, as opposed to my usual every 2-3 hours. Bad bad bad! And it shows. I can tell my metabolism has slowed RIGHT down just by the fact that I feel like I'm in "hibernation" mode, as opposed to "get up and go!" mode... ANYWAYS... TIME FOR... Saturday Stats!!!! CURRENT: 173 Starting Weight: 250 As of 1/1/06: 188 Goal: 140 -1 lb since Last Week (2/4/06) -15 lbs down since Jan 1 -77 lbs gone forever! 13 lbs until my next mini-goal of 160! 23 lbs until the CENTURY MARK! 33 lbs until GOAL!! --CJ

Hi CJ Well, I stayed off the scale all week. I was impressed that I could do it. I went this morning and stepped on and it registered 241.7. That would have been a weight loss of almost 5 pounds. Since my weigh in last Saturday was 246 I knew that I couldn't take this weight loss. I stepped off and back on and it registered 243. I decided I would take that. I just don't buy that really low weight that the scale delivers. It has done it to me in the past and then the next day up it goes. Then it takes another two weeks to find that number again. I'm just not into that type of torture!!! This really showed me tha****er is a big variable in weighing. I woke up with my fingers a bit swollen, have been for a few days now, not sure why. When I got to work and started drinking water, I could barely make it to the bathroom!!!!!! Only one day this week did I wake up and didn't have swollen fingers. Just feels a bit odd. But when I stepped on the scale I knew there would be something odd going on. In either case!!!!!! Starting weight 342 - 7/6/2005 Current weight 243 - 2/11/2006 weight loss - 3 lbs total weight loss 99 pounds I hope everyone has a most wonderful day!!!! Donna

Water is a HUGE variable!! Drink lots and lots of it to be sure that it just gets flushed out. Otherwise it gets retained in your system. Also, eating foods with alot of sodium makes you retain water. So cut those salty/sodium enriched foods back, and up your water intake, the water weight should go away. Also, I must comment... look how far you've come! Down 99 pounds!!! You go girl! One more pound to go, and you've hit the century mark! That is something that many people only DREAM of... even with those that have had the surgery, 100+ pounds loss is hard to acheive. And look, you've done it ON YOUR OWN! That takes a tremendous amount of courage, self discipline and stamna. Nice JOB! --CJ

Hello All!! I was able to stick to my exercise plan, and my eating play--at least 95% of the time! I feel very good about that. Last weekend, I sucked; I ate crap and lots of it! But I tried to redeem myself this week and as of last night my weight was: 250# exactly!! I think I was 250# last week, too, I'm not sure. Anyhew, I'm REALLY close to being out of the 250's!!! I've been dancing around from 258 to 250 all month---and part of last month!!! I just started my 1500 calorie/day plan and it's a hell of a lot easier to follow than my Adkins kick last year!! My mini goal for the end of February is 245. Or 242...Is that asking too much?! I can't go blowing my entire weekend, then spend the first 3 days of the week making up for it....that kind of defeats my purpose! My big time goal is 175; and I can't fathom when I expect to make it there; but hopefully, it will by by year's end. That is 75 pounds in 10 1/2 months.....Do-able??? I dunno. I'll do my best. That's all I've got! Take care everyone, Jessica

Hey Jessica... It IS do-able! I dropped 70 pounds in 8 months when I first began my journey a few years back! If you have the ambition to do it... it CAN be acheived and you will be SOOOO thankful that you did it in the end!! --CJ

Awesome job Phyllis!!! Maintanence is the most important part... to prevent re-gain. Even if you maintain at 155 for a while, your body will get used to being the new you minus the excess weight... and then you'll be able to jumpstart yourself and lose those couple extra pounds until you reach your goal. But, even if you don't, 145pounds lost is SUCH an accomplishment, you should be VERY proud of yourself! -CJ

Hey, nice job Joyce! Keep up the good work! Doctors say that the average rate for weight loss is 1-2 pounds a week. Soooo four pounds is really good! Keep up with lots of water intake, a healthy eating plan, a somewhat challenging excersize routine, and you'll be fine! Even if you lose 1 pound in a week, it's STILL something lost. It's still one more pound closer to where you want to be. --CJ

Hi, It was snowing here. I didn't go to my Saturday morning weigh in. But from my scales, I think I'm holding steady at 134.something. That's what I'm trying to do. Stay the same. Lynette
