The substitute aerobics instructor today told me she has lost 110 pounds with diet and exercise alone. She's gone from morbidly obese to teaching aerobics! She's another inspiration for us nonops in general and me in particular. She encourage me to pursue my own hope of teaching aerobics, so I will talk -- again -- to the fitness director and see if I can start the training. Best of luck. Kasey 365/210 (nonop)

Kasey, As an aerobics instructor, you would be such an inspiration to others. So many times, a person that has 100+ to loose thinks that WLS is the only way. I think it is good to let people see that there is an alternative. Lynette

Phyllis, great minds think alike! I'm 53, and like you, I've been going strong during aerobics classes while women half my age have left from exhaustion. I've read a few articles that say if health clubs are going to survive, they have to start attracting patrons other than 20-somethings. One way to do that is to hire instructors that reflect the population -- older with different body types. We should start our own gym! Best of luck. Kasey 365/210 (nonop)
