What do ya'll eat??
I would like to know what a typical day looks like for you lovely ladies. I'm all over the place right now and gaining since the holidays. I still go back and forth with the idea of surgery but for now it's off. Do any of you use the protein shakes to replace a meal or bef/aft exercise? I'd love to hear from you all!!!
Stephanie, I don't like to eat or drink anything before I exercise, but everyone is different. I also work the second shift, so my times will be different from someone who works 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
I usually have a Starbucks iced latte after exercise, which I usually complete before 2 p.m. I have soup or salad for lunch, and a casserole-type thing for dinner.
I've never done protein shakes. I'd rather have a latte and real food.
Best of luck.

I'm doing LA Weight Loss. Here's a typical day for me.
Breakfast: fruit smoothie (1/2 can Dite Rite, 5 ice cubes, frozen pineapple, LA smoothie mix), 3 Lowfat Triscuits, 1 oz. lowfat cheese, LA Lite Bar
Snack: LA Lite Bar
Lunch: LA Protein Meal Replacement Drink, 1 piece of fruit(usually apple or orange, no bananas or pears)
Supper: chicken or fish, 3 non starch vegetables ( fresh only)
I do my Pilates exercise in the morning before breakfast. I eat supper and then go workout at the Y in the evening.
I about to go on maintenance so I will be adding some more food soon.

Thanks for the replys. I had a baby 8 months ago and I am still breastfeeding (for her comfort mostly-she drinks bottles and eats baby food). A girl I work with has lost about 35 lbs on LA Wgt loss and gave me a coupon for a sign on discount. She told her consultant about me and she said I can't eat the LA Lite bars and to wait until I stopped BF the baby to join. While I was pregnant I developed gestational diabetes. I lost 20lbs on the Dr.'s diabetic regimine but it was all back after 1 month of eating carbs. I had an A1C (diabetes screening test) done Thursday and it was 5. Not "real" diabetes yet, but I have consistantly high blood sugar readings. I have tried so many diets--haven't we all?? I feel like I am at a loss as to what to eat. I don't like to be in the kitchen all day and that was the major reason I failed at low carb--too much cooking! I love to see how successful people eat and that it IS possible to lose large amounts of weight without WLS. I do need to work in exercise slowly-I have a lot of comorbids. Thanks again for your responses and I will post again soon. (p.s--check e-bay for LA lite bars though it may not be a savings with S&H)
Stephanie,
I follow a low-carb regimen because it works best for me. I have been following this since July 7, 2005.
A typical day for me consists of:
Breakfast -
bowl of low sugar oatmeal with flax seed, 1/2 cup of coffee with sugar free/fat free creamer and a piece of whole grain oat nut bread toasted with a tablespoon or peanut butter and sugar free jelly. OR
2 eggs with 2 slices of Louis Rich Turkey bacon, 1/2 cup of coffee with sugar free/fat free creamer
Snack -
around 10:30 I have a mozzarella cheese stick, sometimes low fat, sometimes regular
Lunch -
A lot of the times I have a 1/2 bowl of turkey chili which I make at home, an apple. OR
some type of protein (tuna, turkey, left over chicken) with low fat cheese, apple
Dinner -
Usually some type of protein (grilled chicken, turkey chili, center cut pork), vegetable and on the days I exercise I add 2 ounces of whole wheat pasta.
Snack -
sugar free/fat free chocolate pudding with light whipped cream OR
40 calories fudge bar, no sugar added.
Since being on my program I have eaten perhaps 3 South Beach meal replacement bars when I have been on the run. I do not really like doing this. The bars give me horrible gas, not something I enjoy. I have never had a protein drink in my life.
I go to the gym faithfully 3 times a week, Monday, Wednesday and Friday and I do 35 minutes of cardio followed by 20 minutes of weight training.
Good luck and I hope you find a regimen that works for you!!
