Hi Everyone!!! I'm SOOO excited that I found this board!!!
I've been lurking around the CT Board for quite some time... I'm so happy to see that there's other non-post-ops around here too!!
Anyways, quick and brief intro...
The name's CJ, I'm a 29 year old divorced (and now engaged) mother of one. I have had problems with obesity my ENTIRE life. I've yo-yo dieted for as long as I can remember. My relationship with my ex-husband went sour, when I was tipping the scales at 250 lbs. I thought about WLS... then figured that if I was going to have to control myself after surgery, I might as well trick myself into beleiving I had it done, and see how I do!
Well... I began a healthy eating plan (not a diet, but a NEW lifestyle basically) and I started excersizing religiousely. Lo and behold, I lost 80 lbs... my marriage was STILL sour... I changed ALOT, but he didn't. So I left him!
I'm now engaged to the man I should've married years ago. Although, since my divorce I've been on a plateau... ( I also haven't been "behaving" like I should, either)... so I'm starting a new and improved weight loss plan for myself, hoping to drop 40-45 more lbs.
Anyways that's my story in short... check out my profile there's a little bit more information, OR you can e-mail me at [email protected]

Welcome CJ!!!
You've traveled a long way, and you've got a wonderful attitude! We're entering a new year and so much will change for you! A marriage, the loss of those 40 or so pounds... I have every faith that you will be successful and you'll walk down the aisle cute as a button and ready to take on the world!! I read your profile and you've obviously been working very hard on taking care of yourself and it shows.
Come back and talk to us often!! Many of us are involved in an "exercise challenge"--which basically means, we exercise, then come here and write down what we've done. Speaking for myself, it makes me feel good to be following through with the decision I made to exercise 5 days a week, and I am hopefully inspiring someone else to make a plan and stick to it. None of us are perfect, but we support each others ups and downs. If you want to join the exercise challenge, just come on and post under "today's exercise challenge." Anyone can start the thread, whoever gets up the earliest, or completes their exercise the earliest. You decide up front how often you will exercise, and if you want to, for what legnth of time. No one will scold you if you do or don't complete whatever you set out to do. You're in competition with yourself only.
It's nice to see what everyone's doing, and to support one another.
Take care of yourself and ---Congratulations on your success!!
Jessica
