Hello I am Jamie, I am just lurking at the moment. You girls are doing great. Does anyone know where I can get a scale, or the make and model of one that I can buy for my home. I need one that will allow me to stand on it without breaking. I think I am in the 350 range. Thanks, Jamie

Hi Jamie........ Not sure about the scale question. I would suggest a search on the web perhaps..... I have a Taylor brand-- manual and it weights exactly the same as my doctor's scales..... Good luck, Phyllis........

I had a scale similar to this (Google it): Taylor Professional Medical Grade Bath Scale, but gave it away after I got below 300 pounds. I had trouble reading the analog dial. Now I have this; it was a gift from my brother: Homedics CS-400 Glass LCD Digital Scale Best of luck. Kasey 365/210 (nonop)

Hi there Jamie and don't just lurk, come and hang out with us I use the WW scale, digital, $39.99 or something like that. I bought it at Walmart. I figure the number isn't so important, as long as it goes down. Our bodies flucuate a ton during the day and the week, so to rely on numbers only sets us up for depression. At the beginning of 2005 I weighed 352, so you aren't alone!!! Come back and visit again. Donna - non-op 342/258/200

Hey you lurker!! Jump in! The water is fine here! We're glad to have you. Feel free to talk about what kind of eating plan you're developing or using, and share with us what is working for you; and what isn't. We all have so much learning to do!!! I purged my home of the scale months ago. I allowed that scale to absolutely ruin my day if the numbers didn't correspond with what Ithought they should have--based on the amount of exercise of calories I took in. The scale made me crazy!!! So it's gone. I weigh in only at the health club I belong to . It' keeps me from focusing too much on the daily flunctuations in weight. My scale hindered me more than it helped me, so it had to go!!! We all gotta do what we gotta do to keep our heads on straight through this journey. So please share with us, are you a non-op, or working through the process? Everyone's got a story and we'd love to hear yours!! Take care, Jessica

Hey Jamie! I remember you! I am going to have the lapband in early 2006, but I love it here on non post-ops. I have learned so much and the posters here give me so much inspiration. I lurk mostly, but you can learn a lot about how to eat and exercise. I am in Japan, so I can't help you with the scale, but I just wanted you to know that this is a good place to lurk to get yourself ready for your new lifestyle! Bev
