New Non-Op Board Poster
Hi--just wanted to introduce myself. i've been lurking for a bit. I've been studying obesity surgery, but managed to avoid it thus far, and have lost about 40 pounds (taking my BMI from 42.something-or-other to 35 or so) in the last five months. I haven't been doing this alone via what some call the "white knuckle" diet method-- but rather, with the assistance of my friends, a skilled endocrinologist and pharmacologist, and lots of diet and exercise. Still, after years and years of failed diets, lost and gained weight, and much misery this is far easier and more effective than I expected. So far. (We're not out of the woods yet! Or are we ever out of the woods? Even if we have surgery, are we out of the woods? I don't think so.)
Anyway, I wanted to offer my assistance and support to the brave people on this board --come say hi. I'm willing to tell you about my experiences if they might be helpful to you !

Thanks, Kasey, just wanted to say how much I admire what you've accomplished. Query for you on the exercise front: how do you work it into your schedule? I find the only reliable exercise time I have is on the weekends--the rest of the time it's touch and go. (I have a full time job and a family). When and where do you manage to exercise? Do you do it at the same time every day? I think this is the missing piece in my program; I really need and want to work out every day, but haven't figured out yet how to do it. And while squeezing it in twice or three times a week is fine, and far better than nothing, there are other times I only make it to the gym once a week, and I think I'd be happier and healthler exercising at the same time every day, as a matter of habit, like brushing my teeth.
Any pointers?
