Thank you! it's been a long process but the main thing I did (and still do) was get educated about good nutrition, and how our bodies work with it, in fact I am getting ready to go to school to become a certifed health coach in May! I have lost this weight (and continue to)  by changing how I eat from the standard american diet to eating as clean and naturally as possibly (though I am by no means perfect!) I also have used a program called Isagenix and had much success with it, especially in the beginning, it also bases itself on clean eating, and cleansing and detoxifying the body at a cellular level. I also have incorporated exercise into my daily life, I used to go to the gym but could not afford it any more so I mostly walk and ride my bike now, with ocasional weights (just little hand held ones i do in my living room)  most recently I have started a new way of eating called "Eat To Live" by Dr. Joel Fuhrman it is a very plant based diet, lots and lots of fresh fruits and vegetables, raw and cooked, beans, nuts, seeds,  and some whole grains, after the initial 6 weeks (i'm on week 2) you can add back a lil meat if you choose and non fat dairy but those things are to be used sparingly and the majority of the eating plan is plant based, if you are interested I can tell you more, but this in a nutshell (no pun intended) is what my eating looks like right now, I also try to get a 60 min walk or bike ride in 3 to 5 times a week!

Happy Spring!!! I’m so glad to know you guys are still around! This board is so inactive!

Well, I've been having a tough month. My weight has been at a dead standstill for about 4 weeks now and it’s driving me crazy! It’s definitely not a matter of too many calories, though there are times when I might be guilty of too few. I admit that my exercise was at a minimum during Nov, Dec and Jan, but I got back at it in Feb and really started to kick it up a notch this month. And still nothing!

At my whit’s end, yesterday I stopped by a gym on my way home, signed up for a membership and paid for 24 30-min personal training sessions. I really hope I did the right thing!

good luck with the gym! perhaps you are losing fat but gaining muscle? do you take your measurements? are your clothes fitting any differently? a lot of times for me I would stay the same on the scale but my inches would be melting away, I know how frustrating the scale can be though!
