Time for a reset

My bad eating habits have been sneaking back - along with 3#. I refuse to go back to life I led at 303#, so have drawn my line in the sand and rebooted. I'm having shakes for breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack, with a "lean & green" supper, then fruit for my evening snack. Once those 3# (and perhaps a few of their friends) are gone I'll add back regular food 1 meal at a time 'till I'm back on track.
I'm not starving myself by any means - just cutting back to about 12-1300 calories a day for a few days, then building back up to my normal 14-1500 a day. The shakes take the thinking out of the equation, so I can get through these few days of being HUNGRY without having to be in the kitchen much.
I've discovered a way to make the shakes more palatable and filling. I pour the shake into my biggest mug, nuke it for a minute, then add a serving of strong coffee or tea. (we have a Keureg brewer) It's much tastier than the shakes on their own and gets an extra cup of "water" into me each time. So far the vanilla shakes are working best, with additions of chai or flavored coffees, but chocolate with espresso is also pretty tasty.
I've done the shakes before, but found them revolting on their own - maybe my discovery will help someone else get them down.

I only drink 2 cups of leaded coffee per day and my Dr is fine with me drinking as much unleaded as I like. (whew!) It came up with the dietitian as well with the same response.
I'd love to drink more leaded since it comes in more flavours, but I'm finding more flavours of unleaded at the stores these days, so bring them home, grind them fresh and use a reusable kcup.
Funny thing about the diuretic aspect is I have to take a diuretic in pill form every day. I'd gladly drink more coffee... lol

Thanks! The 3 are gone, now I'm working on a few more. I'd like to see if I can slide under 250# for the first time in 20 years. I figure that'd get me firmly into 3X pant - I'm hovering between 3X and 4X at the moment, down from a high of 6X at my highest weight.
Once I'm under 250# (may as well be optimistic) I'm thinking about the 243# the bariatric specialist said he'd have considered to be an excellent long term result if I'd had surgery at 303#.
Tonight's supper was new for us. Not the grilled fish or stir fried veg, but the shiritaki noodles I tossed with the veg. I tried the darker ones with no calories awhile back and was underwhelmed. Tonight we had the white tofu shiritaki noodles (20 calories per serving) and they were just fine. They have no taste of their own and the texture is slightly different than regular pasta, but I can see them being a regular part of our diet.
What new things are you all finding on your plates?

They're a challenge to find! I found them in the refrigerated section of my local Asian supermarket near the tofu and fresh udon noodles.
What is the sugar busters diet like? If it's more a healthier way of eating/living than a diet I bet it'd be good for any 7 yo.
