Any book suggestions?
Hey all :) I haven't been on this website in suchhh a long time...over a year...but I decided to try and get back to it because I haven't lost any weight at all.
I'm 20 years old and I weigh 346lbs. I have a lot of trouble with eating fast food and not knowing how and when to eat correctly...I've never had normal eating habits.
Basically I just want to know if anyone has read any books that really helped them with losing weight and changing their lives. I really appreciate it!

Yes, My suggestion for a great book to start with is "Eat this and Live" by Don Colbert M.D. its an easy read, has pictures and great info! good luck on our journey!

I'm currently reading two books that I really like thus far.
1. Breaking Through Your Set Point by Dr. Blackburn
http://www.amazon.com/Break-Through-Your-Set-Point/dp/0061288675/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1309215543&sr=8-1
It's a good book on common sense to losing weight. Eating a little less, increasing movement. He does have very specific techniques to losing the weight tho. For example you have to eat meals over the course of 20 minutes. You lose only 10% of your weight and then hold at that new weight for 4-6 months. After waiting you start back losing again. He says that allows the body to get used to being that size and preventing plateaus.
The next book I'm reading is a oldy but goody!
2. Make The Connection by Bob Greene and Oprah Winfrey
http://www.amazon.com/Make-Connection-Steps-Better-Body/dp/0786882980/ref=tmm_pap_title_0?ie=UTF8&qid=1309215805&sr=1-1
I really need a lot of helping with emotional eating. This is the book for me! Bob goes step by step in laying out what it take Emotionally to take off and KEEP off the weight. I'm about 60 pages into the book and every single page is really speaking to me and my issues with over eating.
Let's keep this list going. If you think of another please add it to the list! I've also bought Bob Greene's book Keeping The Connection. I'll report back after I've started reading it.
