OH BOY, Ruth, I'm so excited for you. You're going to do it and once you have that under your belt - yes you can go anywhere. I hope you can actually enjoy the experience. And then start planning that next vacation......

I don't know if you ever flew when you were morbidly obese - but I have to tell you flying when you are normal weight is so much easier. There is ton of extra room in the seat, plenty of space for the tray to come down when they hand out the only thing that is free - some cheap drinks. It's so much easier to get around in the airport and you can easily fit into the toilet on the plane etc. I think if you were trying to overcome a fear of flying while you were morbidly obese, it would have been much more difficult and uncomfortable.

I look forward to you posting after you've flown and telling us how it felt.

I sure did fly when obese.  I flew twice a week from about 1998 - 2000 for work and that was what did me in.  The stress was literally killing me.

I've been busy making plans and appointments with friends and family and getting excited about seeing them.  I'm trying to keep the excitement about the trip in my mind so I don't have time/room in my brain to worry.  :-)

Of course I'll posting after the trip....

How freeing to conquer your fear!!!  I'm sure this will be the first of many trips.  The whole world is open to you now with your new body.  ENJOY!

I wouldn't say I've conquered it at this point but I'm close.....I'm beating on it have not won just yet.   As you said, I am totally hoping this will open up the world for me and lots of adventure to boot.  :-)
