Goals for May and week of May 3rd

My goal this week is eat more veggies and less carbs and continue with protein 1st.  I also want to continue with my exercising 5 or more days per week. Absolutely no fast foods this week

My May goal is to lose 8 pounds. To make this happen I have to be more mindful of my food choices, meaning make healthier food choices most days and keep exercise steady.  I will be visiting my very 1st TOPS meeting this week also.

In the month of April I exercised 5 days for 2 weeks and 6 days the other 2 weeks and did not lose a pound for the month.  I did maintain so I am happy no overall gain and I am still down 8 pounds since vowing to get back on track in March.

I am also very proud that
I made it back to the health club in April finally after not going there in over a year.  1st day back was April 22nd. I was glad to see old faces and they welcomed me back without too many questions and once I went back that 1st day it was like I had never stopped.  Of course my body said otherwise! lol!   It is a good pain though. The 1st day broke the ice for me and I was back on gear.  The machines work better than anything I can do at home, especially when it comes to strenght training.
Goal regarding gym is to get there at least 3 days a week.

Enough about me, does anyone want to share their goals for the week and/or month? It helps putting it in writing. What about your successes for the month of April?   Sharing helps us who need some inspiration.   Have a good week!!

Molly...please don't take my comments about TOPS (in another post) personally!  I believe every WOE works if you work it!!  Just my personal experience with some people I knew that triggered that remark.  Your goals sound great....keep up the good work.

I have also set a goal for May of an 8 pound weight loss....273.5 on 5/1 on my scale at home.  I know the WW scale will differ as I weigh first thing in the morning naked and last time I joined WW, they discouraged that!     So my goal for May is to weigh 265 (guess that's 8.5lb) by June 1st.  Haven't seen the 260's in a couple of years and looking forward to it.

I'm also going to try to get in my water aerobics 3x/week.

Thanks for sharing Sherrie.  I know it is hard to beat WW but I cant afford them right now and I have to do something face to face to get back in the groove of being a loser.

I noticed the interesting exchange and your comments regarding TOPS.  I have heard good things and bad things about them.  I will be trying it out for myself to see for myself and then I will let you know what my opinion is....:-)  I will reserve my opinions until I have tried them out for at least 3 months.

We all have to find our way and do what works for us.  what works for me may not work for others.  since I know this I don't take opinions personally at all.  All of us are entitled to our own opinions.

I love your goals and I am so envious of you being able to do water aerobics.  I have to find me a Saturday evening class.  I just have not given this enough due diligence and because of my bad knees, I really need to do this soon.   Thanks again for sharing! and have a good month and week!!

Molly....I think the important thing is to be accountable on the scale to someone face to face like you said.  At least that's what works best for me.  I can too easily let myself go astray if not for that fact.  Have had a very emotional/stressful weekend and hate to think what food choices I might have made if I didn't know I had to get on that scale at WW tomorrow morning at 9AM.

Water aerobics is the only thing I can do exercise wise....need a total knee replacement.

I totally agree Sherrie. I need a person to person weigh in.  My weekend eating can blow my whole week.  When I did WW I went on Mondays.  It concerns me that the only TOPS meeting I found was on a Thursday.  Times were too early for those who work.  they have already told me I will need a replacement at some point. I am not old enough so they want to wait.  One knee is gone already.

My goal is to lose at least 3 pounds this week and to keep up the motivation to workout each day. I lost 5 pounds since 4/19 when I had my physical and was *****ed at by the doc about my weight. and want to really step it up.

I like your realistic goals.  I want to lose 10# this month.  I am trying to come up with recipes with more veggies and less carbs.  I told my family to hold on because they aren't going to like meals.  My husband and son have become fussy...one doesn't like beef..another chicken..another rice....and now I learn they don't care for cold pasta salads (mac salad, pasta salad).  So it's strictly meat and veggies for awhile.  They'll learn to not mess with me.  LOL

I also want to exercise at least 15 minutes daily.  And if able, up to 30 minutes.

But most of all, I want to work on my head.  If I could fix my emotional crap, I would be much better off.

Keep posting ladies!

LOL!!!  You are fast girl!!  You were like me, was feeling good and forgot about OH.com because I see you have been listed here.   Good goals!!  Your family needs to eat healthy also and 15 min a day is a good start also!!

This is great!!

Molly, it's so good to see how well you're doing now.

I'm going to hang my head in shame here - I said last week I would get my Wi fit up and going and it's still collecting dust. May this is the week I'll get my act together? Maybe tomorrow?

I want to shed the rest of my weight this month - I'm sick of tire of my hanging skin and I'm starting to dream about reconstructive surgery - LOL. However I have to face the reality that my weight loss is slowing down and, well I seem to be losing 1 pound a week now. It's going to be very slow losing these last 25 pounds. I'm frustrated but it's reality.

BTW with WW and TOPS etc. the plans are good - but it all depends on the leaders of the group and the group dynamics - sometimes it's a great fit and sometimes you're just the square peg that doesn't fit into the round hole. I hope your group is a good match for your needs and yes there is something about weighing in these kinds of situations to help keep you honest.

You are doing great!  Unfortunately the smaller you get the harder it is to take off the pounds.  Patience will be needed but I know you will do it!

Thanks for tip on WW and TOPS.  I figured as much since I definitely know that is the key for WW since I have did that so many times.  That is the reason I am doing TOPS--cheaper.  I plan to visit 3 TOPS meetings before I decide on one.  By next Thursday I will decide where I fit best.  If I do not get a good vibe at any of these I will keep looking.  The good thing about living around Chicago is the selections are huge.

Thanks for checking and have a good week and appreciate each pound you lose.  Losing is better than gains.  You are truly inspirational for me!!
