Hello and welcome to the forum!
I'm not sure I know what you mean by a "medical" weight loss program......is like a diet under a Dr's control or a weight loss clinic?
How are you doing on your program?

Nope- just regular old Weigh****chers.

Many years ago I did a medically supervised Medifast shake diet. Oh boy, I will never do that again - but I did lose 100 pounds and kept it off for two years at which time I started to gain back not only that 100 pounds, but another 100 pounds. LOL I think you can only do this kind of diet once although the other people in the group all dropped out after a week or two leaving DH and I the only ones who completed the diet.
My PCP knows that I'm following Dr. McDougall's diet but I haven't been back to see her in almost a year - no need to since I'm off all medications.
What are you doing? How are you doing? That's good that you've been on it since the end of Dec.

Its kind of both. Its a program that's supervised by a nurse practitioner *****views your chart a couple times a month. I am on their most strict program since I have the most weight to lose. It consists of 4 protein shakes/soups, 1 protein bar, 2 fiber supplements, 1 actual meal as well as vitamins and supplements. Overall it's about 1,000 calories a day. It's going really well I've lost 58lbs so far. They will eventually transition me to a less-shake-more-food diet and then once I've hit my goal weight they switch over to a maintenance program which stabilizes your weight. I really really hope this works permanently because I just really don't want bariatric surgery if I don't have to have it (no offfense!).
