What have you done today to make you feel proud? Sunday

I'm happy that my internet connection is fixed and working properly - I'm so addicted to the internet it's not funny.

The weather is clearing up so I think DH and I will head to the mall for walking soon. I'm trying to increase my activity level and I'm proud that even though I feel really lazy and would prefer to stay home and take a nap, I'm going to force myself to go walk.

How is your day going? What have you done to make you feel proud?

I can honestly say I haven't done a thing. If I'm going to admit to doing good I need to own the days I don't do good. I didn't go crazy but my eating has not been mindful, good or honestly even anything I enjoyed today. I have been stressed and a nervous wreck. Husband's medical problems, people trying to rip toes off, blood all over my new carpet..( any suggestion on getting blood outta tan carpet cause I have tried all I know)  it has been one of those days.
I tried tonight to plan better for the week by making a pot of soup with all the bean in it, trying to up my protein without eating something fatty. It looks so blah. I really need to find some recipes and preplan for these bad days. I can't eat raw leafy stuff like salads, I have no idea why I use to have no problem with it. And every time I find a supplement to try and get more protein it has some form of splenda or else so much sugar it might as well be a candy bar. It really has just been one of those days. So glad tomorrow is a new day.

Hi mrsq, I have what I call extremely lazy days, usually at least one per week - I look at it as my catch up day - sometimes we just need them. However it's not good if all your days are like this LOL. I've heard people call them "mental health" days. LOL And yes we have to own all the good, bad and ugly.

Have you tried hydrogen peroxide? Yikes - ripping toes off, not a good hobby - too messy - I hope it wasn't too serious.

I use a lot of herbs and spices in my cooking - common stuff like garlic as well as more exotic stuff, both fresh and dried. I find it really makes a difference. I know planning ahead really helps, especially in the beginning when you aren't sure what to cook - really makes a difference. DH makes the best salads - he throws in everything but the kitchen sink LOL but the more interesting ingredients you have in the salad the better it is. Plain lettuce can be downright boring and I'm not fond of that. See what you can do to spice up your salads. A really tasty salad dressing for plain lettuce is chopped roasted red peppers (if from a jar, rinse them first) mixed with balsamic vinegar. I also use fresh salsa on salad - quick and tasty.

Hope your day today is better.

I love your post mrsq!!  It is so honest, and I can totally relate.  I was avoiding posting in this thread, because I didn't do anything this weekend that I was proud of!!  I ate too much chocolate, and I didn't get the kids to the park yesterday like I had hoped.

But, I am turning it around today!!  No chocolate (so far), and I am going to see my personal trainer tonight, so I will definitely get in some activitiy.

I don't know how well I will do avoiding chocolate for the rest of the week.  With Easter coming up, I know I will give into temptation.  But, I guess I will just work on climbing right back onto the horse, instead of the usual beating I give myself. :)

I hope everyone has a great day!
