What have you done today to make you feel proud? Thursday

Ruth (Moosie) asked that I continue her regular post while she is recuperating from her plastic surgery. Today was her surgery and I hope all went well. Someone from the Plastic Surgery board is going to post updates so when I see them I'll post them here too.

I'm proud today because I made a decent choice for lunch from a food court. I took DH's car in for annual inspection and there was a problem which meant I was stuck at the dealers for most of the day. They have a van service to a nearby mall every hour so I went over and walked around a while and then went to the food court and checked out all the booths very carefully. When you eat a whole foods diet like I do there is very little choice in the mall but I found a mexican one where I was able to get rice and black beans with salsa - wasn't as good as I can make at home but it met my needs. I'm glad I had a good chance to get all my walking in early because I hit heavy traffic coming home and now I'm just tired from spending all day doing nothing.

So what's up with everyone here - what have you been up to? What did you do that makes you feel proud?

Getting a car worked on is always a pain. I'm glad you were able to get out and go to the mall at least. Did you see anything cute? I have not been in the mall in about two years I guess. Thanks to my spine walking and shopping are not an enjoyable experience so I do my shopping online mostly.

I hope Ruth is doing well with her recovery.

Today has been busy. I set up a schedule for doing my housework because I always seem to get  behind. I cleaned two bathrooms today top to bottom...really rethinking the amount of tile we used in this house . I went to to the nursing home and saw my mother in law, she did not know me but I sat with her and did her nails. I parked way out int he parking lot to get some walking in, I have to sit when I get to the front of the building but still it is walking. This afternoon I planted two rose bushes and four shrubs. I'm paying for it now but it is nice to have the front yard finished.

Hope you all have a good night.

Hi mrsq - yes I was thrilled to be able to escape to the mall. This mall has a Limited that my local malls don't have so I checked them out - now that I can finally fit in their clothes LOL Too expensive for me right now but they had some really cute sweaters and tops. I used to do all my shopping on line too - nothing from local stores fit LOL - now it's thrilling and a little scary to go into all these stores and find out that I fit into their stuff. I'm finding it overwhelming a little because I don't know where to go anymore. I have autoimmune issues that were affecting my muscles causing me to be extremely weak - I couldn't get up off the couch or prepare meals when it's really bad - I have worked really hard to build up endurance and strength as well as my diet so it no longer holds me back - knock on wood, I hope it doesn't flare back up again. I know exactly how you feel about trying to walk a little bit but them having to sit to recuperate. I hope it will improve for you.

That's a great idea to schedule your housework. I probably should do something like that.

That's wonderful that you can visit your MIL and do something personal for her even if she doesn't recognize you - that part is sad.

BTW, I posted an update on Ruth and she is doing well.

My  Proud is kind of a weird story, It was such a beautiful day that I decided we were going to go for a nature walk for school today (I homeschool) I am proud for the extra exercise we got, also went to the gym this morning, but on our hike in the foothills, there was any angry Bee that did not like us (me in particular) started swarming around my head, and then I felt it land in my hair, I should have remained calm, but I panicked an started  shaking my head and running, I probably would not have felt the need to run except for on this particular trail, are white crates kept pretty far up the trail that hold honey bee's LOT'S of them! we did not get too close, but this one bee came after me and as I said he landed on my hair, the reason I panicked was because when I heard him buzzing around my head I imagined that it was more than one bee and that I was (or worse my  children) were going to get attacked, so we all ran, and the bee that landed in my hair, stung me on my scalp, OUCH! to make matters worse, we were way up in a hiking trail, where no one was around and I thought last time I got stung by a bee I was a child and I dont know if im allergic , so adrenaline was pumping and I wanted to get home and take some benedrill just in case,  so to make a long  story shorter, made it home took the benedrill and feel totally wiped out tonight! But on the bright side, got the extra exercise of hiking/running and it appears I am not allergic to Bee stings and My kids did not get stung!

Hi Michelle - well hiking and running from bees are both top notch exercises - although the bees part scares me. I'm allergic to bees and years ago I had a neighbor who died from a bee sting so I steer clear of them. I'm glad you're not allergic although th
