How did everyone do through the holidays??
Just wondering how everyone did getting through the holidays? I did pretty good but still am up a bit from my lowest weight last week. I got up to 160.6 and today was back down to 160 I am hoping I can be lower by tomorrow which is my weekly weigh in day. Last Sunday I was weighing in at 159.4 so I'm really hoping I can go a bit below that and not have to record a gain. I know though now that the holidays are over I can get back on track and start losing again pretty good.
Hope everyone had a great New Years.

Odid not do very well over Christmas, but I think i did well over New Years! I am looking forward to my weigh in, which is on Tuesday! I started a fitness journal for this year, and have a goal to lose at least 50 pounds this year! I know it can be done, and all I can do is try my best! Good luck to everyone!

My doctor wants me to lose 4-5lb/month, so my goal for this year is 60lb. Have to lose about 75-80 before my ortho will do the total knee replacement I need. Here's to a year of success for all of us!!
Well today was actually not as bad as I thought it would be. After all my bad eating this week I managed to get a tiny bit lower then I was on my weigh in day last Sunday. Last week I weighed in at 159.4 and today I am weighing in at 159.2 so I'm very happy with that even though it's just a tiny loss at least I didn't have to record a gain and for that I'm very happy. I think now that everything is getting back to normal I can start focusing more on my eating and exercising and get back into losing at a decent rate. I am hoping I can keep up losing about 5 - 6 pounds a month, I had been losing at least 10 but that stopped a few months ago so for now I'm happy with 5 pounds a month. Even at that rate it won't take me too long to get where I want to be. I think once i hit my big goal of 150 I'm going to lower my goal to 140 and then try to maintain between 140 and 145.

Hi Johnita, I'm so happy to see that you are doing so well - I find it so inspiring to see that you are almost at goal.
I had a feast day that was wonderful with DH and the kids. I also ate a few things that are allowed on my diet in the regular McDougall diet but not the weight loss version which are a little more fattening such as avocado and olives as treats over the holidays. I didn't gain weight, but I also didn't lose anything. I didn't fall off the wagon and I had no problem going back to eat my healthy food. DH and I have found that we actually prefer the healthy cooked food best - maybe because I use a lot of spice and herbs so there is a lot of flavor?
I did meet my big goal of getting below 200 for New Years Eve - I was 199 - so I was thrilled about that. And I am wearing size 16 pants - even size 14 if they are cut large.
I'm also thinking about walking 3 miles instead of 2 when I go the mall - I say thinking about it because it's so freezing cold that I haven't driven over to the mall all week. I walk so fast that DH says we spend more time driving to the mall than walking 2 miles at the mall.
