So, I went to the dr today...
Well, the stomach issues got worse. I sprained my ankle two weeks ago and was taking meds, so when my stomach started hurting bad, I thought it was a reaction to the meds. This was last Thursday. Saturday am I went to the ER and had to have a CAT scan. I had a ruptured apendix with an absess the side of a football and it was very infected. I was in surgery about four hours. I also had a UTI & upper respiratory infection, so I was pumped full of antibiotics, phenergan (sp?), and pain meds and released Monday. I also have a huge cyst on my right ovary and gallbladder disease with a gallstone the size of a golfball, which is to be removed in three months once I heal from this. I'm pretty sure they misread the x-ray last month b/c they didn't find any of this at the drs. I weighed 304 at the dr when I went for a sprained ankle and last night I weighed 194.3. I think most of the weight I lost was the infection, b/c my tummy has went down considerably for only 11 lbs and I was told I would have swelling for a while- 11 stitches down the center of my tummy for 2 1/2 more weeks.
I'm on a doctor issued 30 gram of fat per day diet until my gallbladder removal. No caffeine, no alcohol, no fried foods, no butter, no chocolate, etc. It's hard, but I've made it a week so far. I understand now why my tummy swells up after I eat, its my gallbladder yelling STOP EATING! I had a 2ft tube in my tummy until Friday to drain my infection and OMG, it hurt! It would have been easier on me without all this. The doctor showed me before and after pics of where my appendi was, my cyst, and then a pic of my fat, quite yucky and a shock to reality. I've been lazy dieting for a while, but have to get healthier before my next surgery b/c the recovery part is no fun...
