So, I went to the dr today...
It's been a while since I posted, I always feel guilty when I'm not trying to eat right. I need to change it. I need to find some willpower or something.
Warning-this story is a little TMI, but I'm not discussing this with anyone IRL, so here we go.. I felt so embarrassed today at the doctor. Yesterday I had a dull pain in my left lower abdomen, went to sleep hurting. I woke up with a stabbing pain, same spot. I knew I couldn't work hurting this bad and read online all the horrible things it could be, so I went to the walk-in dr. I have no insurance, so the pain has to be bad for me to pay the $$ plus I really don't like going. I weighed in at 301.4! I have NEVER hit the 300 mark. They went through my chart and in 10/07 I was 257. That's almost 50 lbs in 2 years. When the doctor pressed on my hurt spot I accidently hollered out. They took an X-ray and the doctor had me look at it as well. The x-ray was from below my chest to my pelvic area and I had umm... blockage in the ENTIRE area. I have to take fleet and a bottle of miralax and if the pain doesn't go away after this, then I have to go to for a CT scan to see what else it may be. So, I basically paid $135 to find out I'm constipated badly and of course I had to tell work it was stomach problems and I needed to take the meds at home today so I had to remote connect. So embarrassing...
How do I get back on track. I feel blah, I'm wearing a minimizer to squeeze in my jeans, and I'm gaining all in my hips. It just sucks. Thanks for letting me vent.

First I'm glad you are ok...not something worse happening to you.
I too recall the SHOCK when I hit (and went over) the 300 lb mark. HOLY COW how did I let myself do that????!!!!??? That was the start of me waking up....I lost about 70 lbs but gained back 30....kind of maintained a 40 lb lose but clearly needed to lose MUCH more! it would be a couple more years before I really got it in gear. All time wasted!! Time I wish I had back. Oh well.
So make the decision that you are sick and tired of feeling sick and tired and that you will make smart eating decisions! It won't be easy. there are no magic pills or quick fixes. It will take dedication and determination but you can do it.
You have eat healthy,.......eat plenty (starving yourself will not work!)........and move your body!!!!!!
I have a BLOG on my profile outlining my plan.....feel free to check it out. If you find the blog let me know and I'll help you.
Let me know if you have any specific eating or exercising questions.
Best wishes on your journey!!! If i can do it at my age you can do it too!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi,
I looked at your profile but couldn't find your blog about your plan. Am I overlooking it? From the picture of the califlower pizza I assume you follow a low/lower carb plan. Is that correct?
Thanks! Janis

Hi!
When I look at my profile I see the blogs....they all have orange headers. here's a link www.obesityhelp.com/member/moosie1234/
If you go all they way down it's the next to last story/blog called "my weight loss journey".
If you see the "archive" links in the blog area you can click on MAY 2009 and it will come up also.
Let me know if you still don't see it.
To answer your question about carbs...I don't really eat a LOW carb plan but I avoid all refined/processed carbs like most breads, white flour, sugars, pasta, potatoes, etc... but I eat lots of carbs in the form of whole grains (bulgur wheat, oatmeal, whole wheat pasta, tons of fruit and veg).
Hope that helps....let me know if you have more questions.

Hmmmmm, very interesting.....I'll go check my settings but in the meantime if you want to test the "friends" theory send me a friend request and then let me know if you can see them.
Thanks for letting me know about the problem so I can fix it (I hope!).

Now if I were you, this is the story that I'd be sticking to..."No I haven't gained any weight, as soon as that Fleet kicks in, all of that weight will be flushed down the toilet!"
Sorry, but you're the one who started it when you gave me too much information! Seriously though, I hope you get some relief soon cuz that is a miserable condition to have to deal with.
All permanent weight loss has to begin with loving yourself enough to know that you are worth the hard work and struggle that it is going to take to get you healthy. Yes skinny jeans are a benefit, but you are going to have to do this for the girl in the mirror and the potential that she has to be a beautiful vibrant woman who is full of LIFE! You thought I was going to say full of sumpn' else didn't ya? Sorry...again.
Come back and vent anytime. We all need some help and encouragement on this journey!
Mary
